I love Japanese culture in general (I'm also studying Japanese at university) and I'm glad to discover new things about Japan.
Last week I went to a party in Milan, which took place at the Japanese School every year, on the last Sunday of November. In every classroom you can try something differrent: at the gym and on the outside, there're the typical Japanese food, on the inside there're mangas, rooms where you can wear a kimono, you can see the Tea Ceremony and so on.
This year I took part in the Calligraphy Room (the art of the so-called 書道 shodō) and I wrote my first kanji (yume,, "dream") with a brush:
I know it's not perfect, but I love it because it reminds me the feeling of peace and harmony that I sense while I wrote it, which is the same feeling of when I fold paper to create an origami.
Yesterday I made four origami, a panda, a sea otter, a dove and a rabbit.
I'll put here a Japanese proverb
七転び八起き (nanakorobi yaoki)
"Fall seven times and stand up eight"
Yours, Silvia
