Expo: a land of opportunities

Hello everyone! How are you?

I'm a bit tired now, because I have to wake up very early every morning and then I have to trek (today I walk 14 kilometers, for example xD).

As I said, I have a job now, in particular I work for Expo, the universal exposition in Milan. This is totally a new experience for me and I'm both excited and worried.

I'm excited for the fact that I'll move in a new city, I'll be more independent, I'll live with one of my colleagues: in a few words, a lot of things will change from my usually lifestyle.

In addition, the place where I work will be very interesting, especially because I'll meet a lot of people from different countries (it's perfect for me: in fact my favourite subject is Anthropology) and I'll learn foreign habits and flavours (the theme of Expo is food).

The negative aspects are connected with the distance from home, real and symbolic.

Even if I'm not so far away from there, my daily life will be much more different: there won't be my mum cooking my breakfast or my dog waging his tail when he sees me :(

Also, I won't often meet my friends of university, because I'm very busy even now that the fair is not open yet and when I stop working, I'm very tired.

There'should also another thing that I don't appreciate.
I'm very disappointed when I watch the TV or when I listen to conversations about Expo: there're some problems, but they can be solved. People only sees the negative side: in fact, I go there every day and all I see is the diligence of everybody and the will of rise from the ashes to show our faculties.

I'm happy anyway: I'might sure I'll meet new people and I hope to find a lot of new friends, maybe who live abroad.

Tomorrow the adventure will start.
Keep your fingers crossed for us :D

Yours, Silvia
